The Grumpies bring new meaning to the phrase "hot air" in this week's chaotic but fun show - albeit with a little less moaning that usual. Clint Peccable and Light Sequent guest.

Almost unfit for broadcast! The grumpies attempt to conduct themselves appropriately amidst exhaustion from MetaMeets, a disappearing set and the vanishing "guests" mic! Oh well!

This Morning

Look at it. Would you want to go out in it? Cold, grey. Can't tell sky from sea. People huddled waiting forever waiting for transport. To go where? To spend money they can't afford to buy.To go speak to people they don't really want to spend time with just to spend time with someone. To feel
different. There is something different. Something different to someone taking you and twisting you into their versions of their lives. Hello, I am not them. I am me. At least I thought I was. And now, perhaps I am not too sure. What do you expect when you read Grumpy Old Avatars? Grumpiness surely. Remember Grumpy one of the seven dwarves from Sleeping Beauty. That is what you get. He isn't always lovable. He eats and drinks and sleeps the way you do. Just thinks about it differently. If you want to feel better about your lives. Grateful for your existence, keep watching. Anything is better than this. Have a jolly awful day.

1st Show Friday 5th Feb

Thanks to our wonderful guests Vryl Valkyrie and Ziggy21 Slade who joined Malburns Writer, Dousa Dragonash and Slim Warrior on the 'new and improved' Grumpy Old Avatar Sofas in the Studio last night.

The subjects chosen for the show covered Direct teleports, and Notecards.

Much discussion over whether teleports should actually be banned altogether and a Taxi system put into place which allows for much more viewing of Second Life creations and at the same time our total irritation at having to spend time 'walking' . Proof of stupid landing points were put into practice as half the audience arrived in Vryls lap.

The conversation moved onto the subject of Notecards, generally called 'New Note'. which no one actually reads and remain one of the most hideous forms of communication within our Virtual lives and certainly go towards the fact that most of us have massive inventories mainly filled with ' new notes'.

We also had heated discussion on the 'Best Of ' competitions within SecondLife with opinions differing between whether ( ie Miss Virtual World) they reflect the true aspects of 'the best' or just reflect the fact that some one is good at using the sliders on their appearance profiles.
The inclusion of the subject Toilet paper, toilets, the old implementation of ratings on profiles also dotted the conversation at times.

Our many Thanks go to Tara Yeats for filming the show which can be now viewed in full over at Real Virtualities. ( http://www.livestream.com/metaworld2)

our many thanks to our wonderful guests Mr Crap Mariner, Lauren Weyland and Joel Savard.

Each week we will also run a Caption competition here on the blog with a random photo chosen. The weeks winner will be announced live on the show the following week.

Tuesday 26 January 2010

Why?

Why hasn't anyone posted yet?
Why was I born?
Why do people always tell you they have done something you were supposed to do, when you have just done it?
Why can't they tell you before you do it?
Why is it called passive agressive?
Why aren't people just passive?
